Life Time is leveling up its group fitness game with the launch of a sleek new Pilates reformer class—and it’s already drawing rave reviews.
Dubbed CTR (Core.Tone.Reform), the program blends traditional reformer movements with athletic conditioning in a high-energy format that targets core strength, flexibility, and total-body control. This isn’t your typical slow-and-steady Pilates session. CTR is designed to deliver sweat, tone, and tempo—all wrapped in luxury gym polish.
Now Booking at 7 Life Time Clubs
The pilot is currently running at seven upscale Life Time locations across California, New York, Minnesota, and Illinois, including Lakeshore-Irvine and One Wall Street. Signature Members can reserve their spot through the Life Time app—and judging by the buzz, they’re doing exactly that.
“I just took this yesterday and I am obsessed,” one user commented on Life Time’s Instagram. Others chimed in asking when CTR would be available at their home clubs. That’s the kind of demand most studios dream about.
To mark the debut, Life Time Irvine hosted a private preview at its Beach Club, complete with non-alcoholic LTH mocktails, giving members a taste of the brand’s signature blend of fitness, hospitality, and lifestyle.
Riding the Reform(er) Wave
Reformer Pilates has exploded in popularity over the past two years, moving out of boutique-only territory and into the mainstream. And while many gyms have rushed to offer their own version, Life Time’s CTR class aims to go beyond the basics by marrying performance and recovery in one slick experience.
The rise of athletic-style Pilates has been fueled by consumers who want to train hard—but without wrecking their joints or burning out. CTR taps into that need, offering a sculpting, strength-driven session that still respects alignment and control.
Life Time’s approach is built on consistency. Rather than outsourcing instruction or overhauling studios, they’re integrating CTR directly into the club’s group training ecosystem, ensuring a familiar, seamless member experience.
A Bigger Wellness Play
This move is just one part of Life Time’s broader strategy to redefine what a gym can be. In the past few months alone, the company has introduced cold plunges at 70+ locations, launched post-pickleball wine tastings via FitVine, and continued expanding Miora, its in-club health optimization clinics.
Digitally, the LT app now boasts over 2 million users and features a growing library of on-demand workouts and wellness programs. The brand is also leaning into content creation, with a New York-based studio dedicated to elevating its digital presence.
CTR fits right into this vision—boutique-level experience, elevated amenities, and curated lifestyle elements. It’s not just another fitness class. It’s a step toward Life Time’s larger ambition: becoming the destination for total wellness.
And if early reactions are any sign, they’re on the right track.
